"I had a tire to blow out on my Jeep at mile marker 95 in Conroe near Huntsville. Out of nowhere, one of your drivers appeared ... and proceeded to change my tire. ...Neither my daughter nor I could even change a flat. He was our angel and would not accept a dime. He told us where to go and how to add air to our spare tire. I just wanted to let you know you do have angel on team Roadway and would like to thank him again. He really saved us."

"At 12:30 A.M. on 5/21/01, my family and I were south bound on US 63 just north of Jonesboro, AR. The worst rain storm I had ever driven through, hit at that time. We were coming back from a trip and had been on the road four hours. We were close to home and I did not want to pull over. We followed a good, Roadway driver, just able to see his 'flashers' most of the time, for many miles. We went between 25 and 40 miles per hour for a long time. Tell the driver thanks and sorry if we were an annoyance. We think that he was pulling doubles, and we forgot the trailer number."

"I wanted to comment on your truck and driver. He was headed west on 54 highway. I appreciate the fact that he was doing the speed limit, he was NOT tailgaiting anyone or driving aggressively. So many times trucks fly through our small tourist town and it is so dangerous without any exit ramps."

"My husband and I travel interstate 80 between the Poconos and Clearfield in Pennsylvania. We often stop at a truck stop in Snowshoe. Our son was a driver but was killed in 1999 and since his death we have started to hand out work gloves as a gift to drivers in appreciation for the job they do. We wanted to let you know that your drivers are some of the most pleasant, well-mannered and kind drivers we have met on the road and they deserve to be recognized for that."
-Horsham, PA
"I was driving North on I-65 in southern Kentucky. One of your trucks pulling double trailers ... was driving in front of me."
"I wish to thank your company and to compliment both you and the driver for the manner in which he was driving. The driver exercised great caution, followed the speed limits, and was extremely courteous as other vehicles passed and swerved in and out of traffic, several times causing potential crucial situations.
"I congratulate both your company and the driver. I am truly thankful and highly commend your driver for his/her superior skills !"

"Me and my three cousins had a wreck labor day of '91 and the first and only person to stop was a Roadway driver. I remember I cut my arm open pretty bad, and he gave me one of his brand new shirts to stop the bleeding. Then he helped my other cousins out of the car that was turned over,... and he called 911 .... I still, to this day, don't know who he was, but I just want to thank Roadway for hiring him...
"I was 15 then, now I'm 25. I am coming up on my 500,000th mile mark, because I drive a truck now... I was just thinking that its been over 10 years and wanted to thank somebody so, thanks to Roadway."

"I recently met one of your drivers here in the Findlay, Ohio area. His name is Joe Cramer, and I believe he drives out of the Lima, Ohio terminal. Joe delivers all over Findlay and always give 100% effort to our local businesses and treats his customers with great respect and always a smile on his face."

"My wife and four of her friends were traveling to Chattanooga when one of the tires on my truck went flat. They pulled to the side of the road and called me to come change the tire. I rushed to get to them and when I arrived I found one of your drivers there changing the tire."
"I personally want to thank your company for hiring such a wonderful person. My wife was very anxious and nervous and this gentleman helped to calm her and her friends. He took care of my wife and I cannot thank him enough for what he did."
- Dalton, GA
"I would like to compliment your driver for being one of the few truckers I have ever seen on that section of highway who observes the correct speed limit of 55 mph....Reward him for safety."

"[I wanted] to thank two Roadway drivers.... [I was] driving on the turnpike going westbound near the Lancaster/ Lebanon interchange (exit 20). A truck ahead (not Roadway) lost his driveshaft... The two Roadway drivers stopped and offered assistance when [I] was changing the tire. They also removed the lost driveshaft from the road way. ...Wished [I] had gotten their names because [the driver] was grateful that they stopped and wanted them to be recognized for doing so... Roadway should be proud to have such fine people like these 2 drivers..."

"I just want to thank a driver named Steve for stopping and offering help to me and my nephew when my truck got a flat tire. Help was on the way from my friend, but the offer was greatly appreciated... ...This world definitely needs more people like him..."

"My family and I were traveling east from a long two week trip out West. It was starting to get real windy as we began through Iowa in our 24' RV. I was almost getting accustomed to large rigs blowing past us at 70-80 mph, when I fell in behind a tandum Roadway Express trailer.
"Having been a Police Officer for over 10 years, I have a lot of respect for a good driver. The person driving...was THE BEST example of a Professional Driver I have seen in many years. In the 20-30 mph cross winds...this driver stayed 58-60 mph all the time. I had the cruise set at about 60 on our RV and it was very nice to have someone to follow behind for the several hundred miles from about Des Moines well into Illinois. This driver really deserves a safe driving certificate... PLEASE contact the driver...and THANK this person for me and my family. It is good to know there is at least one truly professional truck driver out there keeping us all safe on our nations highways."

"We are writing to applaud one of your drivers. Unfortunately, we never got his name. My husband and I were headed to Tunica, MS via I-40. We made a stop at a little fuel stop/diner at the Cuba Landing exit. After filling the truck up and taking a restroom break, we went out to continue our trip. Although we had no previous warning, when I turned the key in the ignition, I heard the clicking sound of a dead battery. We tried a couple of times more with no luck."
"One of your drivers heard the clicking noise and knew immediately we had battery problems. He and my husband worked and manipulated the battery cables (to no avail). As it turned out, due to corrosion and some sort of short, the battery post actually broke off. Your driver did not have jumper cables, but he asked a couple of people in the parking lot if they did and found someone who had jumper cables. Again, we had no luck in jumping the battery. Your driver thought perhaps the small car (of the owner of the jumper cables) didn't have enough "juice" to jump the battery. He then proceeded to his own rig and dropped his trailer and returned to the fuel pumps with his tractor and again tried to jump the truck. Again, we met with no success...After some delay we were towed by a AAA wreck back down I-40 to another small backwood garage who did happen to have a battery..."
"We appreciate his help and wanted you to be aware of his willingness to help some stranded travelers. Again, we thank him, whoever and where he is."

"This morning I followed [a] Roadway Truck and Trailer from northern Lebanon County into the Harrisburg area.
"The weather was rainy and misty. I got behind this truck upon entering the highway and set my cruise control at 65, the posted speed limit. When traveling this road, almost every vehicle will pass me and pull away from me very quickly at 65 MPH.
"It was indeed a surprise to find myself literally staying right behind the above mentioned truck for the entire trip toward Harrisburg. This driver, maintained the legal speed for the entire distance and even slowed when the rain suddenly became heavy.
"...It was a welcome sight to cruise along at the legal speed and constantly be following the same truck. Please compliment this driver on his safe operation of his rig."

"Yesterday I was exiting off of route 104 to Lockbourne Rd. I got a flat tire. As I was trying to change my flat tire I was unsuccessful at doing so. Many cars passed me and my mother (she is blind). Then, out of the blue, one of your employees stopped to help us out. He was heaven sent!!...THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART."
- Columbus, Ohio
"I wish to thank and commend the driver of your truck. He was kind enough to reroute my daughters and I around a lengthy stretch of road work. We do so appreciate his thoughtfulness."
- Georgetown, TX
"...Many drivers were passing us at dangerous speeds for the weather conditions, and I was going a modest 50 mph. Your driver was in front of me and maintaining a 50-55 mph speed limit. He was the only thing I could see. He led me through several very limited visibility areas even though many were traveling way too fast. He was my lifeline today and I just want to thank him. I just want you to know that this driver is a credit to your company and my "knight" in steel armor. To you, dear driver...THANK YOU!"

"On the night of November 25th, I was driving home from Indiana... when we ran into a terrible snowstorm ...We started to follow this Roadway semi because we realized that as long as we stayed centered between his two rear lights, we could stay on the road and be O.K...the driver signaled and pulled over to the right shoulder...stepped out of his truck and walked back to our car and asked [if] we were O.K.. I told him "Yes, I'm O.K.. I was just following you because this is the only way I could see through the storm, and do you mind if I followed you some more." He told me "No problem!" and jumped back in his truck and started off. We drove along... until we were safely out of the terrible storm conditions, then he drove off into the night with the other truckers. His kindness, will never be forgotten by my aunt and me, and my two precious little boys. Many people died that night due to accidents... [but] God sent us this "Road Angel" to guide us through!"

"This is a letter of appreciation for the caliber of employee that you hire. From my first contact with Roadway Express--Customer Service (Cheryl) to the Dispatcher (Steve) and finally to the Driver (Ralph)-all were courteous and helpful.
"...Ralph sized up the situation observing that one of the loaded skids was unfit to load. Rather than have me call back to the office for help, Ralph said, "Let me see if I can combine some of the boxes so you will only have 10 skids and I'll see if they just might fit in the truck." With a lot of skill and a lot of effort, Ralph got all 10 skids on the truck.
You have no idea how much I appreciated bringing the job to completion-and I believe it was because of the cooperation of your fine team.

"I have worked with many freight companies through the years and dealt with many different types of people. I currently have Carl Alampi as my driver in your Las Vegas facility. Carl is always considerate, has a great attitude and always willing to help with my freight when my receivers are no where to be found. He is respectful and very professional. I use Roadway for most of my shipping requirements and Carl is the main reason for this. In my opinion, people make companies what they are and if you have the right people, your company will continue to grow. Carl Alampi should be congratulated for his people skills, helpfulness and professionalism."
