Job Corps

Job Corps is a U.S. Department of Labor program that offers disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24 an opportunity to get a high school diploma or GED while they develop the skills needed to succeed in a variety of careers. Students earn while they learn a trade, and then receive assistance in finding a job after completing the program.
Roadway developed the tractor-trailer driving-training program to prepare Job Corps students for jobs in the trucking industry. We also provided a truck technician program curriculum in conjunction with the United Auto Workers-Labor Employment and Training Corporation.

Road Teams
A select group of top Roadway drivers talks with community groups, law enforcement personnel and students about safely sharing the road with trucks.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Fund-raising activities and payroll deduction by Roadway employees raised over $176,000 for St. Jude in 2005. St. Jude is the Memphis-based center for the research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children. In just six years, Roadway employees have raised over $2 million for this cause.
