Take Your Daughter & Son to Work Day

Roadway is sponsoring an educational opportunity to coincide with the Take Your Daughter & Son to Work Day program at its corporate office in Akron, Ohio. The program is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2008.
The theme for this year's Take Your Daughter & Son to Work Day program is Making Choices for a Better World. The program is for children of Roadway employees who are between 8 and 15 years of age.
This year's theme is designed to help girls and boys to think critically about how the choices they and the people in their lives make and how those choices can lead to a better world.
The format is flexible to accommodate participants who wish to discuss personal choices such as whether to be self-motivated, seek a good education, vote, or get involved in the community.
Or participants may consider the opportunities which groups, organizations, and corporations have to make choices for a better world. From the local level to worldwide level, the choices may involve: sexual and racial equality, helping the less fortunate, fair and unbiased workplace and community conditions, going green policies, promoting world peace, human dignity, and many more.
