Roadway has been a unionized company since the mid-1950s. The 18,000 employees who handle and transport our freight every day are predominately Teamsters.
Union carriers pay well above the industry average. The result: our better wages attract and retain employees who bring extra quality, productivity and savings. Unlike most non-union carriers, Roadway's turnover rate is very low (less than 3%). This stability contributes to a safety performance that is at the top of the industry.
