Roadway is proud to announce the second Annual Professional Freight Handlers Competition will be held March 24-25, 2003, in Akron, Ohio at the John S. Knight Center. Roadway dockworkers are dedicated professionals working day and night to move our customers' freight safely. Roadway created the competition in 2001 as a way to recognize these safe and skilled employees. Competitors striving for the title of Grand Champion face four challenges: a written exam, personal interview, pre-trip inspection, and a driving course. To be eligible, dockworkers have to be certified to operate forklifts and have an injury- and accident-free safety record for the twelve-month period immediately preceding.
