International customers can now track their shipments online and receive a complete, detailed history.
Roadway has enhanced its service offering for exhibit shippers with the addition of van line service. Available nationwide through Roadway's tradeshow sales team, the new service provides added features such as air ride for all van line shipments; pad wrap for loose, uncrated freight; custom crating; and warehousing. These features are ideal for transporting exhibits, high-tech equipment and materials that require special handling.
Roadway has created a new First Time Shippers section to help new customers set up an account and ship that also provides details on Services, Shipper's Info, Customer Tools, FAQs, and Glossary sections to help meet the needs of first time shippers. Check it out.
Roadway Express, Inc. and its subsidiary, Reimer Express Lines Ltd. of Canada have received system-wide ISO 9001 recertification. This covers Roadway's system-wide management and operation of the transport of customer goods from origin pick-up to destination delivery. Find out more.
The 2003 State Truck Driving Championships are moving on! The Georgia State Truck Driving Championships were held May 9-10. Kevin Dean earned first place, Straight Truck and Rookie of the Year. Roadway was honored at the California Trucking Association's annual Safety Awards Banquet on May 6, 2003 in Sacramento, CA. Roadway's two first place Truck Safety Awards for accident frequency in a year were received in the less-than-truckload General Commodities Division: over 7,000,000 line-haul miles and over 4,000,000 local and inter-city miles. Chuck Shirley, a pickup and delivery driver at our Detroit facility, has logged one million miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident. Mr. Shirley has been with Roadway for 14 years.
