
Roadway Corporation will hold a special meeting of its stockholders on December 9, 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio, to vote upon the proposal approving Yellow Corporation's acquisition of Roadway Corporation. Yellow shareholders will also have a special stockholders meeting on December 9, 2003 to consider transaction approval. The Yellow Roadway transaction could close as early as December 11, 2003 assuming shareholder approvals, receipt of all regulatory clearances and the successful completion of financing.
"Inbound Logistics" has named Roadway Express a "Top 100 Motor Carrier" for 2003. Over five hundred trucking companies, large and small, were reviewed. Indianapolis, Indiana Roadway road driver, Don Payne, celebrates his 50th anniversary with Roadway on November 16, 2003. Don, the most senior employee currently working for Roadway, has driven over 2.2 million miles without a preventable accident. He started at Roadway's Alliance, Ohio facility and since 1969 has worked at our Indianapolis facility. We congratulate Don Payne on his upcoming fifty year anniversary with Roadway!
Roadway's Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota facility celebrated one-year injury free on October 15, 2003--over 123,184 safe hours and counting!
Wally Matthis, a pickup and delivery driver for Roadway's Chicago, Illinois facility, has logged two million miles--the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 80 times--without a preventable accident. Join in the celebration.
