North Carolina Department of Labor Recognizes Roadway

The North Carolina Department of Labor named the Kernersville, North Carolina, Roadway Express facility a Rising STAR Worksite, in recognition of the facility's effective promotion of health and safety in the workplace.

Recent Driver Safety Milestones

Two of Roadway's professional drivers have recently achieved the exceptional four million mile accident-free milestone--James R. Smith (Greenville, SC facility) and Richard G. Ford (White Pine, TN facility).

James R. Smith has been with Roadway for 36 years without a preventable accident. Richard G. Ford began driving for Roadway in March of 1973. He is now the third active four million mile driver at Roadway's White Pine, TN facility.

Three of Roadway's professional drivers have recently achieved the three million mile accident-free milestone--Michael J. Bunn (Muscatine, IA); James A. Doyle (Lakeland, TN); and James W. King (Linwood, KS).

Eleven of Roadway's professional drivers have recently achieved the two million mile accident-free milestone. In addition, forty-one of Roadway's professional drivers recently achieved the one million mile accident-free milestone.
