The experience includes a step back to a period important to both American and baseball history at the "Times of Greatness" mobile exhibit.

Baseball Glove & BallThis 50-foot educational exhibit tells the inspirational story of the remarkable individuals who revolutionized baseball and a nation in the Negro Leagues. Roadway is proud to partner with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to sponsor this exhibit. Check out "Times of Greatness" tour stops.

Results--Fourth Annual Professional Freight Handlers Competition Professional Freight Handlers Competition 2005 logo

Chuck L. Pearson, Jr.Chuck L. Pearson, Jr., a Valdosta, GA, professional freight handler/driver account specialist, was named Grand Champion at Roadway's Fourth Annual Professional Freight Handler's Competition held on April 17-19 in Akron, OH. Chuck has been injury-free for fourteen years.


Roadway Express 2005 PFHC TeamRod Newcomb, a Portland, OR, driver account specialist, received second place. Ivan Richardson, a Houston, TX, professional freight handler, received third place.

The competition, inspired by the American Trucking Associations' National Truck Driving Championships, was created by Roadway as a way to recognize our safe and skilled freight handlers.

Roadway Express TruckDriver Signposts

Roadway's Bob Johnson (Detroit, MI) has achieved a career milestone of driving one million miles without a preventable accident.

Tom Siefert, Director of Regional Operations, stated: "Bob's commitment to safety is evident by this great accomplishment. He embraces Roadway's priority of safety, going the extra mile to assure his safety and that of others while on the road every day. We congratulate Bob and look forward to his second million safe miles."

NASSTRAC 2005

Roadway is a gold sponsor of NASSTRAC's 2005 Shipping Strategies and Logistics Conference scheduled for May 4-6 in Naples, FL.

NASSTRAC attendees will have the opportunity to visit "Times of Greatness," an educational mobile exhibit of the Negro Leagues baseball story sponsored by Roadway. This unique exhibit offers a dynamic multimedia experience with historical film footage, photographs, interactive displays and artifacts. The exhibit chronicles the story of how Negro Leagues teams and players used speed, reliability and innovation through teamwork to overcome tremendous obstacles.
