Terry Collenbaugh, a freight handling professional/driver account specialist from Indianapolis, Indiana, was named Grand Champion at the 6th Annual Roadway Professional Freight Handlers Competition (PFHC).
Alphonso Lewis, a freight handling professional/driver account specialist from Montgomery, Alabama, received second place.
Handling 3,100 pounds of freight an hour, 24,800 pounds in an eight-hour shift—this is a day in the life of a Roadway professional freight handler.
Sometimes the least visible members of the freight-handling team but not the least important, these dedicated employees move shipments safely, move it efficiently, and load it to ride from pick-up through to delivery. To do this, they need skill, knowledge, and a dedication to safety.

This year's tour features a special tribute to John Jordan "Buck" O'Neil, a Negro Leagues veteran and spokesman, who passed away Oct. 6, 2006, at the age of 94.

PGA golfer Bart Bryant is ready to take on the course at Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, May 24-27, in Ft. Worth, TX. He remains in the top 40 on the 2007 PGA TOUR World Money List after playing in 11 events this year.
Champions Tour professional Brad Bryant, winner of the 2006 Toshiba Classic and the Regions Charity Classic, joins his brother Bart as part of the Roadway team.
Brad will be in Birmingham, AL, on May 18-20, as the defending champion of the Regions Charity Classic played at the RTJ Golf Trail at Ross Bridge.

Dave Messmer from Phoenix, AZ, recently won in the 3-axle class at the Phoenix, AZ state championships. This is Dave's second consecutive year to qualify for the Nationals.
Greg Nauertz (also from Phoenix) won in the 5-axle sleeper class. Greg was the 3-axle National Champion in 2003.
Myron I. Randall from New Orleans, LA, placed first in the 3-axle class at the Louisiana state truck driving competition. Myron has won twice before in the twin-axle class.
Good luck to the first three Roadway drivers to win at the state level and advance to the National Truck Driving Championships in Minneapolis!
Christina's Smile Children's Dental Clinic provides dental care at no cost to youngsters in need throughout the country.
