Can I provide our company’s 1-800 number as a 24-hour emergency contact when shipping hazardous materials or dangerous goods?

Rules governing international overseas shipments of hazardous materials or dangerous goods require that a non-toll free number be provided for a 24-hour emergency contact. Many foreign governments have hazardous aterials/dangerous goods regulations similar to the United States and require a 24-hour emergency contact number. Most 1-800 or toll free numbers are not accessible from other countries. As a result, customers must provide a non-toll free number for foreign contact and emergency notification
