Is a customs broker required for service to Canada, and how much will duties and taxes be for Canadian service?
For moves from the U.S. to Canada, the Canadian importer generally
uses a Canadian customs broker. If possible, the shipper should identify
the broker on the bill of lading. From Canada, the U.S. importer uses
a U.S. customs
broker. The customs broker determines applicable duty and taxes and reports
this information to customs on behalf of the importer. The importer
is normally billed by his/her broker for duties and taxes.
