A Basic Guide to Shipping

How to fill out the bill of lading

Successful deliveries start with accurate shipping documents.

The bill of lading is a legal contract between the shipper (you) and the carrier (Roadway). The bill of lading states exactly what is being shipped, where it's coming from, and where it's going.

You can purchase bills of lading from office supply stores. The Roadway bill of lading is available at no charge from your Roadway Customer Care Team. Another option is to fill out the Roadway bill of lading online and print a copy. Give the completed bill of lading to the Roadway driver who picks up your shipment.

Bills of lading can also be completed and submitted electronically. If you are interested in this option, see my.roadway.com for details.
