Homeland Security

Today's antiterrorist efforts are transforming cross-border transportation. We work with federal agencies to help develop programs such as C-TPAT, PIP, FAST and ACE.

Roadway not only keeps up-to-date with requirements, we are in the forefront — helping with their evolution.

Our certifications in these programs provide our customers with faster processing--translating to an average crossing time of three minutes per shipment. 98% of our shipments are pre-approved for Customs clearance before arriving at the border.

Secure Border Crossings
Roadway is at the forefront of the changes taking place at North America’s borders, helping to develop programs that improve supply chain security while keeping the borders open to legitimate trade.

We worked with federal agencies to help develop the transportation requirements for the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program of the U.S. government, the Partners in Protection (PIP) program of the Canadian government, and the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program of the Canadian and U.S. governments for highway carriers.

In return for participating in these initiatives, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and the Canada Customs Revenue Agency promise importers faster processing and fewer inspections. To participate, importers must use carriers that are approved for these programs. Roadway was one of the first carriers authorized to participate in these federally backed programs for protecting the supply chain.
