Assisting Fairlawn Lutheran church, Roadway transported two 53-foot trailers full of donated items to flooded Caldwell and Marietta, Ohio communities this week.
"We had hoped to fill one truck," said Tom Strachan, the church's evangelism team leader. Fairlawn Lutheran gathered furniture, clothing, small appliances and a variety of other goods and Roadway proudly provided the transportation.
Items were gathered from areas near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and all the way to Barberton and Uniontown to assist the flood victims. Community support to help low-income residents and flood victims far surpassed expectations.
An estimated 36,000 people in southern Ohio will be aided in some manner by these donated items.
