38 Roadway Drivers Qualify For 2007 National Truck Driving Championships [07.31.2007]

AKRON, Ohio, July 30, 2007 -- Roadway proudly announces 38 of its best professional drivers will compete at the 2007 National Truck Driving Championships August 21-25 in Minneapolis, MN. This is the 70th year for the event, which is sponsored by the American Trucking Associations.

To qualify for the national championships, each Roadway driver placed first in his respective class at state competition. Both the state and national contests include challenging driving skills and maneuvering tests, pretrip inspections, and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.

"These professional drivers excel in highway safety," said Roadway President Terry Gilbert. "Through their safety performance, each of them contributes to the well-being of their fellow motorists and improves the value Roadway brings to the marketplace. We are proud to have this team represent Roadway, and wish them all the best at the national championships."
