In addition, professional Roadway driver, Jackie Becker, from Memphis, TN earned third place and Rookie of the Year in the 4-axle class at the Tennesse State Truck Driving competition.

To participate in state-level competitions, drivers must be accident-free for the 12 months leading up to the event. The state competitions include challenging skills and maneuvering tests on a driving course, a pre-trip inspection, and a written exam on vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.

Good luck to the first two Roadway drivers to win at the state level and qualify for the 71th annual National Truck Driving Championships in Houston, TX.

These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill.

The next state competitions will be held in AK, KY, MS and SD on the upcoming May 16-17 weekend. See the state schedule for more information.

The National Truck Driving Championships, coined the "Super Bowl of Safety," is sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA).
