
Keith Powell, and Michael W. Erick, professional Roadway drivers, placed first in their respective classes at the Delaware, and Rhode Island State Truck Driving competitions last weekend.
These state champions advance to the National Truck Driving Championships which will be held August 18-23, 2008 in Houston, TX.
Keith Powell won in the 4-axle class in the Delaware State Truck Driving competition.
Michael W. Erick won in the 4-axle class in the Rhode Island State Truck Driving competition.
To participate in state-level competitions, drivers must be accident-free for the 12 months leading up to the event. The state competitions include challenging skills and maneuvering tests on a driving course, a pre-trip inspection, and a written exam on vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.
Good luck to these Roadway state champions who are now qualified for the 71th annual National Truck Driving Championships in Houston, TX.
They merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill.
The National Truck Driving Championships, coined the "Super Bowl of Safety," is sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA).
