AKRON, Ohio -- July 10, 2000 -- The Board of Directors of
Roadway Express, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROAD), at a meeting today,
declared a cash dividend of $0.05 per share on the Company's
common stock. The dividend is payable on September 1, 2000 to
shareholders of record on August 18, 2000.
