
AKRON, Ohio--July 2, 2001--Roadway Express, Inc. has been recognized as "Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Carrier of the Year 2000" by Char-Broil. This is the second year in a row Roadway has earned this honor. The award was presented by David Atkinson, Director of Logistics, and Chris Cobb, Traffic Manager, for Char-Broil. Hank Adams, southern division Vice President of Sales, Caroline Evans, Account Representative, and Clayton Funderburk, Terminal Manager in Columbus, GA., accepted the award on behalf of Roadway at the Char-Broil Logistics offices in Columbus, GA.

Evans feels that Roadway improved upon the process that made the carrier successful in 1999 and was key to building the existing partnership with Char-Broil.
