Roadway Awards Scholarship to Kelley Krizek of Crown Point, IN [06.21.2002]

AKRON, OH - June 21, 2002 - Roadway Express, Inc. has awarded the GAR Foundation Scholarship to Kelley C. Krizek of Boone Grove High School in Valparaiso, IN. The GAR Foundation was established in memory of Roadway founder Galen J. Roush and his wife Ruth, and annually sponsors scholarship awards to dependents of eligible Roadway Express employees. The scholarship has a value of $5,000 per year for four years.

Kelley is the daughter of Barbara Knutson and James Krizek. Jim is the district administrative manager for Roadway Express at the Chicago Heights, IL, facility.

A top student in her class, Kelley graduated with a 4.28 grade point average on a scale of 4.0 and is an esteemed recipient of the Purdue Young Scientist Award.

Active in Student Council throughout her high school career, Kelley served as class president during both her sophomore and junior years. She also was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and Volleyball and Softball teams.

Future plans for Kelley include majoring in pharmacy in the fall. Kelley has gained direct admission into Purdue University.
