Roadway Express’ Craig Diehl Drives One Million Miles Accident Free [04.18.2003]

DANVILLE, Illinois - April 18, 2003 - Craig Diehl, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc. has logged one million miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident.

Diehl, 53, is a pickup and delivery driver for the company's Danville facility and a member of Local 26 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. In the 18 years he has been with Roadway he has been accident free.

"Safety has always been a core value for Roadway. Craig's strong commitment to be engaged in serving our customers and working safely demonstrates the pride he has in his work and his company," stated President of Roadway Express, Bob Stull. "He joins an elite group of Roadway drivers, who exemplify the professionalism and skills to be the "best of the best" in our industry. We are proud of such an outstanding achievement."

Diehl will be recognized for his achievement at a safety dinner with his co-workers and family. He will also receive a plaque, jacket and decals for his tractor honoring his commitment to safety.

"We are very proud of Craig Diehl's exemplary professional success," said Ed Perry, Terminal Manager for the Danville facility. "Craig has been an active member of the Danville Safety Council. This is a clear indication of his commitment to improving highway safety and putting to use the extensive defensive driving training that our company provides our drivers."

Diehl and his wife of 32 years reside in Champaign, IL and they have one daughter. He enjoys camping, attending dirt track motorcycle races and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
