Roadway Express' Daniel Sterenchock Drives One Million Miles Accident Free [04.30.2003]

Hazleton, PA - April 30, 2003 - Daniel Sterenchock, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc. has logged one million miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident.

Sterenchock, 52, is a pickup and delivery driver for the company's Hazleton, PA facility and a member of Local 401 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. In the 16 years he has been with Roadway he has never had a preventable accident.

"With individual employee performance such as exists in Hazleton, I am confident that this dedication can make our vision to become the "Safest Transportation Company in North America" a reality," stated Bob Stull, President of Roadway Express. "This success is testimony to the pride and commitment our engaged workforce has while serving our customers and working safely."

Sterenchock will be recognized for his achievement at a safety breakfast to be held at the Roadway facility in Hazleton. He will also receive a plaque and jacket honoring his commitment to safety.

"We are all very proud of Daniel's exemplary safety record," said Terminal Manager for the Hazleton facility, Paul DeAntona. "It is a clear indication of his commitment to highway safety and his use of the extensive defensive driving training that our company provides our drivers."

Sterenchock and his wife, Aimee reside in Hazleton. He is a member of the Free Mason Lodge #95 in Kingston, PA, volunteers with Helping Hands Society and Hazleton Heights Fire Company and enjoys gardening, home improvements and working on his computer.
