Roadway Express' Leroy Hughes Inducted Into Kaleidoscope Magazine Forty/Forty Club [04.30.2003]

AKRON, Ohio - April 30, 2003 - Leroy Hughes, District Sales Manager for Roadway in Akron, Ohio was inducted into the Kaleidoscope Magazine Forty/Forty Club Class of 2003. Hughes received the award from Cleveland's Mayor Jane Campbell during a dinner held on March 28, 2003.

Kaleidoscope Magazine recognizes forty African Americans - age 40 and under - who are making significant contributions in the Cleveland area and within their organizations. Hughes was nominated by Roadway due to his contribution to the Company in the world of sales and for being a devout Christian, husband, father and friend.

"Congratulations to Leroy for such an outstanding achievement," stated Roadway District Manager domiciled in the company's Akron facility, Jim Banks. "The impact he has made in the short time he has been with Roadway now stretches from coast to coast. His spirit and drive are contagious, and we are proud to have Leroy on our team. The 40/40 award is well deserved and I'm sure one of many to follow."

Hughes joined Roadway Express in 1991 at the company's Los Angeles, CA facility, where he was charged with the responsibilities of sales representative. He has since held various positions in the company's sales operation. He has been at the Copley, OH facility for the last two years as District Sales Manager. Prior to joining Roadway Hughes was a Sales Representative for Gallo Wine.

Hughes resides in Uniontown, OH with his wife, Michelle. He is a dedicated member of The House of the Lord Church in Akron and enjoys playing golf. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego, where he played football for four years.
