Roadway proudly announces that these three professional drivers domiciled at Greenville, SC, have taken first place in their respective categories at the South Carolina state truck driving championship held this past weekend (4/7-8/2000) at Midland Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina: Lloyd Baum Jr.--Tank (2nd year in a row!); Sam Christopher--3-Axle; Adolph Heyward Jr.--Straight Truck.
These competitions include difficult skills and maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on vehicle inspection procedures.
These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill.
As state champions, these drivers will compete at the American Trucking Associations (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC), held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, August 9-12, 2000.
