Two Roadway Drivers Head to Nationals After Winning at Montana Truck Driving Championships [06.14.2003]

Roadway Express proudly announces that Chuck Barrett and Chris Ott are new additions to Team Roadway for the 2003 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC).

The two drivers out of Roadway's Billings, MT facility were awarded this honor after winning first places at the Montana State Truck Driving Championships held on June 14.

Chuck Barrett, driver/dock worker, won first place in the twins class at the Montana State Truck Driving Championships. Barrett earned the honors of Highest Interview Score and Best Pre-Trip Score.

Chris Ott, driver/dock worker, won first place, 3-Axle class, in the 2003 Montana State Truck Driving Championships. Ott won first place, 3-Axle class, along with Rookie of the Year, in the 2001 Montana State Truck Driving Championships.

Roadway won the Montana Team Trophy.

The competitions include a personal interview, challenging maneuvering tests, vehicle inspection procedures, and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.

These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, they are on the "Road to Columbus" to compete at the American Trucking Association's (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, August 19-23, 2003.
