
Roadway Express proudly announces three drivers are new additions to Team Roadway for the 2003 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC).
Ken Epley, Tom Nestler and George West, placed first in their classes at the Illinois Truck Driving Championships held at Prairie State College, Chicago Heights, Illinois, on June 6-7.
Ken Epley, a LH shuttle driver, who won first place in the Tanker class this year, is certainly no stranger to the Illinois Truck Driving Championships. Ken was named National Champion in the Straight Truck Class at the 2001 and the 2000 Truck Driving Championships.
Tom Nestler is also no novice to the Illinois Truck Driving Championships. Tom won first place in the 5-Axle, 2001 Illinois Truck Driving Championships, along with Driver of the Year and a first in the 2002 Illinois Truck Driving Championships.
George West, a P&D driver, Flatbed class, also received the special recognition of Grand Champion. West is a driver at Roadway's Chicago Heights, Illinois, facility.
Additionally, Roadway won the Illinois Team Trophy.

These competitions include difficult maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on vehicle inspection procedures.
These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, they are on the "Road to Columbus" to compete at the American Trucking Association's (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, August 19-23, 2003.
