Roadway Express Awards Scholarship To Kyle Rosendale Of Canton, Ohio [06.25.2003]

AKRON, Ohio - June 25, 2003 - Roadway Express, Inc. has awarded its corporate-sponsored Roadway Express, Inc. Scholarship to Kyle M. Rosendale of Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio. The scholarship has a value of $5000 per year for up to four years.

Kyle was chosen on the basis of his test scores, academic record, leadership and extracurricular accomplishments. He is the son of Kelly and Mark Rosendale. Mark is the relay manager for Roadway Express at the Akron, Ohio, facility.

Graduating as salutatorian, Kyle has been recognized in Who's Who Among American High School Students. He ranked fourth in his class of 413, earning a weighted grade point average of 4.5 on a scale of 4.0.

Kyle was an active member of the National Honor Society, German Club, and Varsity Cross-Country. His passion for cross-country running has earned him both the State Farm/1480 WHBC's "Student Athlete of the Year" award as well as the distinction of being named "Massillon Independent Runner of the Week."

Kyle served as associate director for the Gary Bowen All-Star Tournament (an annual four-day baseball tournament, sponsored by the Jackson Baseball Association, which showcases some 60 Little League teams). Kyle also volunteered his time and talent for Habitat-for-Humanity, the Baer Foundation (which works with foster children in the Youngstown area), and his Church Youth Group.

Future plans for Kyle include majoring in biomedical engineering at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., in the fall.
