Roadway Express proudly announces that Dave Armstrong is a new addition to Team Roadway for the 2003 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). This comes after placing first at the Rhode Island State Truck Driving Championships held in Cranston, Rhode Island, on June 21, 2003.
Armstrong, a driver/dock worker at Roadway's Providence, Rhode Island facility, earned first place in the 3-Axle class.
These competitions include difficult maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on vehicle inspection procedures.
Team Roadway NTDC drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, they are on the "Road to Columbus" to compete at the American Trucking Association's (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, August 19-23, 2003.
