Two Roadway Drivers Take Firsts in Minnesota Truck Driving Championships [07.03.2003]

Roadway Express proudly announces two Minnesota drivers are new additions to Team Roadway for the 2003 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). Dan Chaves and Dean Helget placed first in their classes at the Minnesota Truck Driving Championships held in Little Canada, Minnesota on June 28-29, 2003.

Dan Chaves won first place in the 4-Axle class. A driver/dock worker, Dan is domiciled out of Roadway's Minneapolis, Minnesota facility.

In the 5-Axle Sleeper class, Dean Helget won first place at the Minnesota Truck Driving Championships. Dean, a driver/dock worker, is domiciled out of Roadway's Mankato, Minnesota facility.

This competition includes difficult maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on vehicle inspection procedures.

These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, they are on the "Road to Columbus" to compete at the American Trucking Association's (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, August 19-23, 2003.
