AKRON, Ohio - July 23, 2003 - Roadway Express, Inc. announced that it was selected by Ryder System, Inc. to receive the "2002 Ryder Carrier Quality Award." The award presentation took place on June 27, 2003 at the Carrier Quality Award and Carrier Appreciation event at the Links of Novi in Novi, Michigan. Tim Podvin, General Manager, Global Logistics Procurement and Dave Thigpen, Manager, Less-than-truckload Expedited Procurement for Ryder, presented the award to Roadway Account Representatives Cindy James and Dave Nowakowski.
"Our team has certainly enjoyed our strong business relationship with Roadway and we look forward to it continuing into the future," stated Thigpen.
The award criteria include on-time service, claims performance, customer service, technological application, economic value and innovation in technology.
