
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — September 9, 2003 — Jeff Boles, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc., has logged one million miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident.
Boles, 46, has been employed at Roadway for 27 years, and a pickup and delivery city driver for 22 years at the Company's Indianapolis facility. He is a member of Local 135 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
"Safety has always been a top priority at Roadway. Jeff's success is testimony to the pride and commitment he has to be one of the best drivers in the industry. Congratulations to Jeff for his outstanding accomplishment," stated John Bronneck, Executive Vice President of Operations for Roadway.
"We congratulate Jeff for his superior achievement," said Alfonzo Washington, Jr., terminal manager of Roadway's Indianapolis facility. "He joins an elite group of Roadway drivers, who exemplify the professionalism and skills to be the "best of the best" in our industry."
Boles was recognized for his milestone at a safety breakfast. He was also honored with a plaque and jacket honoring his commitment to safety.
Boles and his wife of 20 years, Debbie, reside in Edinburgh, Indiana. They enjoy golf and traveling.
