AKRON, Ohio - Roadway Express, a leading transporter of industrial, commercial and retail goods, today announced it has been named a "Top 100 Motor Carrier" for 2003 in the Inbound Logistics annual trucking issue. The magazine's editors used their Inbound Logistics Top Motor Carriers questionnaire as well as other sources to compile its annual Top 100 Motor Carrier issue. Selections have been made every September for the past ten years.
Over five hundred trucking companies - from the largest, best-known companies to the smaller niche providers - were compared and reviewed. The survey queried over-the-road carriers on basic transportation characteristics and services, carriers' financial and operational performance, as well as web functionality.
An online trucking decision support tool, the Inbound Logistics "Top 100 Trucker" is a database that allows customers to find the trucking company that matches their specific requirements. It is as simple as putting a check in front of the services and capabilities being sought. The Decision Support Tool finds matching companies from the Top 100 Truckers database. Customers can then contact companies through linked RFP functionality.
