Detroit, MI--March 15, 2004--Larry Popowiecki, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc. has reached a milestone in his career of driving one million miles without a preventable accident. That is equivalent to circling the earth's equator 40 times.

Larry, 43, is a pickup and delivery driver for the company's Detroit facility and a member of Local 299 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Larry will be recognized for his achievement at a safety breakfast to be held at the Detroit facility. He will receive a plaque and jacket honoring his commitment to safety.

Larry and his wife reside in St. Clair Shores, MI. They have one son and one daughter. He is active in hunting and fishing and enjoys spending time with his family.
