Customers who don't know the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) for their shipment can now find the answer at Roadway.com. The first in the industry to offer this feature, Roadway's new "Need to Know Your Freight Class?" tool allows shippers to complete an online form based on their shipment's specifications. Dedicated Customer Care Team members will determine the freight class and respond via e-mail within one business day.
For faster service, customers can continue to call their local service center and a Customer Care Specialist will gladly determine the correct code for the shipment, as well as provide a rate and arrange a pickup. To determine the freight class, specific questions will need to be answered. These questions can now be found online in the new freight class section.
In addition to the online request form and list of questions, the new section also provides basic information on freight classes and other helpful hints for first-time shippers. Find this tool and others in Roadway.com's section dedicated to First-Time Shippers.
