
DETROIT, Michigan - March 22, 2004 - Frank Morris, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc. has logged one million miles without a preventable accident. This is equivalent to circling the earth's equator 40 times.
Morris, 43, is a pickup and delivery driver domiciled at the company's Detroit, MI facility. He is a member of Local 299 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, serving as Union Steward for the drivers. In the 15 years he has been with Roadway, he has never had a preventable accident.
"We are proud of Frank's outstanding performance. His strong commitment of engagement serving our customers and working safely demonstrates his pride in his work and the company," said President of Roadway Express, Bob Stull. "He joins an elite group of drivers who set a fine example and maintain the skills that will influence the transportation industry."
Morris will be recognized for his safety achievement at a breakfast to be held at the Detroit facility, where he will receive a plaque and jacket commemorating his milestone.
"We congratulate Frank and are proud to see him reach this personal goal in his career. He is a true professional in every sense of the word and a tremendous asset to Roadway and the Detroit team," said Detroit Terminal Manager, Tom Siefert.
Morris and his wife, Angie, reside in Romulus, MI and have two sons. He enjoys time on his motorcycle, riding for various charity events.
