CINCINNATI, Ohio - April 2, 2004 - John Lightner, a professional driver for Roadway Express, Inc. has traveled over one million safe miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident.
Lightner, 54, has been a linehaul driver for Roadway for 11 years and is domiciled at the motor carrier's Cincinnati, OH facility. He is a member of Local 100 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

John's strong commitment to be engaged in serving our customers and working safely demonstrates the pride he has in his work and his company," stated President of Roadway Express, Bob Stull. Lightner will be recognized for his accomplishment with a celebration dinner, a plaque, and a jacket honoring his commitment to safety.

Lightner resides in Union, KY, with his wife of 35 years, Marcia. He has two children, and four grandchildren. In addition to being a "million-miler," John is also an avid NASCAR fan.
