AKRON, Ohio - April 26, 2004 - Roadway Express, Inc., a leading transporter of industrial, commercial and retail goods, was presented the "2003 Quality Carrier of the Year" award for outstanding performance by the Hamilton Sundstrand Logistics Council on April 14, 2004 in San Diego, CA.
"Roadway has been one of Hamilton Sundstrand's core carriers since 1990," stated Karen Rasmussen-Smith, the chairperson of the Council. "After many years of consistently good service, we are pleased that Roadway has achieved #1 status."
The award is a result of the market feedback analysis for transportation suppliers, which was established by the Hamilton Sundstrand Logistics Council in 1998. The analysis is based on six different categories including: transit performance, customer service, billing, loss and damage claims, and value.
