
AKRON, Ohio—September 14, 2004—Roadway Express has been recognized as the "2004 Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Nationwide Carrier of the Year" by the National Small Shipments Traffic Conference (NASSTRAC). Jim Staley, President and CEO of Roadway Group, accepted the award on behalf of Roadway Express at NASSTRAC's fall meeting September 12-14 in Atlanta, GA.

"Through NASSTRAC's support, members are provided unique opportunities to promote their goals and supply chain responsibilities through the organization's advocacy of industry issues."
The voting members of NASSTRAC recognize carriers that demonstrate excellence in the following areas: industry leadership, technology, pricing, customer service performance, operational excellence and business relationship.
Roadway has been the recipient of the LTL Carrier of the Year Award for 15 consecutive years. The Carrier of the Year program is co-sponsored by NASSTRAC and Logistics Management, a trade magazine for buyers of logistics services.
