
KERNERSVILLE, NC - September 17, 2004 - Roadway Express driver Jim A. Huffman, Jr. was honored for his elite safety record of driving three million safe miles by prominent state, federal and industry officials at the annual North Carolina Drivers of the Month luncheon on August 25, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, NC. The North Carolina Trucking Association (NCTA) and the NCTA Safety Management Council hosted the luncheon to recognize professional truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
"We are proud of Jim for reaching this important milestone in his career. He exemplifies the tremendous commitment, pride and professionalism essential to make our highways safe while serving our customers," stated Bob Stull, president of Roadway Express.
Huffman is a linehaul driver domiciled at Roadway's Winston/Salem facility in Kearnersville. He has driven over 3,400,000 total safe miles during his 34 years as a professional truck driver. His recognition included a trophy and a $100 Savings Bond sponsored by the NCTA Safety Management Council. Huffman is a member of Local 391 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Huffman resides in Kearnersville. His hobbies include bass fishing and car restorations.
