INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - November 3, 2004 - Donald Woerner, a professional driver for Roadway Express, has logged one million miles, the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 40 times, without a preventable accident.

Woerner, 56, has been employed at Roadway for 17 years and is currently a pickup and delivery city driver at the company's Indianapolis facility. He is a member of Local 135 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

"We are all proud of Don's outstanding accomplishment. With individual employee performance such as exists in Indianapolis, I am confident that this dedication can make our vision to become the "Safest Transportation Company in North America" a reality," stated President of Roadway Express, Bob Stull. "This success is testimony to the pride and commitment Don has while serving our customers and working safely."

Woerner will be recognized for his achievement with a plaque and a jacket honoring his engagement to safety.

"We congratulate Don for his superior milestone," said Randy Miners, Terminal Manager of the Indianapolis facility. "He joins an elite group of Roadway drivers, who exemplify the professionalism and skills to be a leader in our industry."

Woerner and his wife of 36 years, Becky, reside in Templeton, Indiana. They have one daughter, Amy, and a son-in-law, Pat. Woerner likes to work on his 2 1/2 acres, and enjoys woodworking.

"I would like to thank Roadway for giving me the opportunity to reach this milestone," stated Woerner. "I have been with the company for 17 years and have been a regular city driver for most of that time. I am proud to be a Roadway Express driver."
