Roadway Express proudly announces that the following Roadway drivers have taken first place at their respective state truck driving championship:
David McDonald - Kansas Twins Champion (David also won the Pre Trip Award and Overall Grand Champion)
George Kendall (Grand Champion) - Wisconsin 3 Axle Champion
Mike Strzok - Wisconsin Flatbed Champion
Jim DePouw - Wisconsin Tanker Champion
These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, these drivers will compete at the American Trucking Associations National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). This year the NTDC will be held at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida August 18 - 21.
Both the state and national competitions include difficult skills and maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on their vehicle inspection procedures.
