Roadway Express proudly announces that the following Roadway drivers have taken first place at their respective state truck driving championship:
John Lane - Ohio Twins Champion
John Johnson - Ohio Flatbed Champion
Kim Davison - Ohio Straight Truck Champion
Mike Ball - Michigan 3 Axle Champion
Herb Graham - Ohio 5 Axle Champion
Mike Ringer - Ohio 4 Axle Champion (Herb and Mike are from the Akron, Ohio Relay and took the "Team Trophy")
These drivers merit the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, professionalism, and driving skill. As state champions, these drivers will compete at the American Trucking Associations National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). This year the NTDC will be held at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida August 18 - 21.
Both the state and national competitions include difficult skills and maneuvering tests and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations. Competitors are also tested on their vehicle inspection procedures.
