Several Roadway drivers have recently attained safe-driving milestones.
Roadway driver Elwin T. "Slim" Pickens from our Meridian, MS service center has driven FOUR million consecutive miles without a preventable accident. Elwin is only Roadway's 16th driver to achieve the four million mile safe-driving pinnacle. That is equivalent to circling the earth's equator 160 times and a unique accomplishment in the trucking industry. He joined Roadway in 1972.
Ten Roadway drivers have recently achieved the career milestone of driving THREE million consecutive miles without a preventable accident--the mammoth equivalent of circling the earth's equator 120 times.

Each of these drivers received a tractor emblazoned with his safety achievement to drive while he is a Roadway employee.
Since March 2005, twelve Roadway drivers have logged more than two million consecutive miles without a preventable accident--the equivalent of circling the earth's equator 80 times, and all of it accomplished without a preventable accident:
