Volunteers from Roadway Express, the local Moose lodge, and the Letterkenny Army Depot endured freezing temperatures and icy pavements to deliver Christmas gifts to needy children. The toys, bicycles and electronic games were delivered to about 700 children throughout Franklin County, Pennsylvania, on December 10, 2005.
The toys, gathered by the Toy Mission, headquartered in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, began to be collected back in May.
The Roadway service center in Hagerstown, Maryland, donated two tractor trailers, volunteer drivers and colleagues to help the Toy Mission make Christmas a little happier for local children.
Deliveries started on Saturday morning after a breakfast with Santa, and by 9 a.m., the Roadway trucks were on the road delivering toys.
