
Roadway professional drivers Al Adams (Berlin Center, OH), Kent Durant (Cheney, Kansas), and Rich Scholl (Irondale, Ohio) have been selected to serve as America's Road Team Captains by the American Trucking Associations (ATA).
For the next two years, Adams, Durant, and Scholl will serve alongside 13 drivers from other transportation providers as members of the America's Road Team sponsored by the ATA.
They will be recognized and congratulated by Bill Zollars, YRC Worldwide Chairman, President and CEO, in Kansas City, KS, February 2, 2007 during a Town Hall Meeting.
America's Road Team Captain, Al Adams, 59, has accumulated almost 3 million accident-free miles during his 37-year career with Roadway. Al and his wife of 39 years, Evelyn, are proud parents of son Jeff and daughter Connie. They also have two grandchildren. Al enjoys spending time with his family and going to hot rod and antique truck shows. Al and his family call Berlin Center, Ohio home.
America's Road Team Captain, Kent Durant, 40, has accumulated nearly 1 million accident-free miles during his 18-year career with Roadway. Kent has been a member of the Roadway Road Team since 2001 and was a Kansas Road Team Captain from 2002-2004. He has competed in the Kansas Truck Driving Championships for eight years. His accomplishments include 2nd place 4-axle van in 2003, 1st place 4-axle van in 2005 and 2006. Kent is also a certified Haz-Mat trainer, a CVSA Certified Truck Inspector and a new-hire instructor for Roadway. He has been a Senior Pastor of his church since 1998. Kent loves working with young people, camping and driving. He and his wife of 20 years, Danetta, reside in Cheney, Kansas. They are proud parents of Karrah Brook, William, and Austin.
America's Road Team Captain, Rich Scholl, 48, has accumulated over 1.5 million accident-free miles career. Rich is a relay driver for Roadway and has been a professional driver for 29 years. He conducts commercial vehicle safe classes/training with the Ohio State Patrol and Ohio Peace Officials in Commercial Vehicle Safety. Rich and his wife of 28 years, Becky, reside in Irondale, Ohio. They are proud parents of seven children.
