Akron, OH, May 7, 2007--Major enhancements to both the my.roadway.com and Roadway.com websites give Roadway customers quicker access to shipment information and better tools for managing their supply chain via the Internet.
For registered users of my.roadway.com, a secure website for online shipment visibility and management, the enhancements mean more functionality and additional ways to customize online shipping to their unique business requirements.
"The enhancements to my.roadway.com answer our customers' requests for more electronic visibility into their supply chains, more capabilities from our online shipping tools, and more flexibility to meet their planning needs," said Roadway President Terry Gilbert. "The online solutions are simple, smart and effective to ensure our promise to customers, 'Roadway. Your Way.' "
To improve ease of use, a calendar view of shipping activity, templates for more customization, and default settings for faster data entry have been added to my.roadway.com. The enhancements also focused on the shipping management applications, with special attention to the interactive bill of lading (BOL) tool.
The steps for creating a BOL, submitting a pickup request, and transmitting bills of lading and shipping labels to multiple locations via email are now virtually simultaneous. Customers also have the option to edit the BOL until the shipment is picked up. For further convenience, customers can create, save and use multiple BOL templates.
Enhancements to other applications provide many new benefits, ranging from the ability to view or email up to 250 invoices at a time and query up to 250 shipments by any reference number in a single request to more options for customizing reports and status updates sent via email.
Roadway also rolled out improvements to Roadway.com, a website which provides valuable tips for first-time shippers, information on transportation services, and other helpful resources. No password is required to use Roadway.com, which offers rate quotes, tracking, and other tools for online shipment management.
A new feature allows registered users of my.roadway.com to log on to their secure accounts from the Roadway.com homepage. More than a time-saver, this feature allows customers to begin their online shipping the way they prefer, from either the Roadway.com site or the my.roadway.com site.
