THE QUAKER OATS COMPANY AWARDS ROADWAY EXPRESS CARRIER OF THE YEAR
AKRON, Ohio -- August 23, 1999 -- Roadway Express, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROAD) has been recognized as the "1998 Carrier of the Year" as a less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier by Quaker Oats Company.
Rick Onken, Corporate Account Executive, received the award from Lee Chiles, business planner for transportation for Quaker Oats, at a luncheon in July. "I am proud to receive this award on behalf of Roadway Express. This is a testament to our customer service teams, which meet or exceed customer expectations," said Onken. Quaker Oats feels that their success is driven directly by support from carriers such as Roadway.
