Shipping from a Show Exhibit Tips
| Be sure to specify on the show contractor's bill of lading if the delivery to place of business requires an appointment, liftgate service, or inside delivery when shipping out of a show. This will help the delivering service center make the required arrangements while the shipment is enroute, so delivery is not delayed.
Be sure all responsible third-party information is completely filled out when completing the outbound bill of lading at the show site. Also be sure the print name(s) and contact phone numbers on the bill of lading are filled out. It's a good idea to drop a business card into each shipping container when shipping into and out of a show. This will help identify any loose piece(s) that may have been separated from the shipment.

Most general contractors require
you to use their own bills of lading (Material Handling
Agreement (MHA)) when shipping from a show. They do
this to make sure you have a clear invoice. If you bring
your own bill of lading, ensure that all the information
is correctly transferred including carrier selection. All
old shipping labels (i.e. empty stickers) need to be
removed prior to shipping from a show. Each shipping
unit should have a minimum of 2 shipping labels.

Prepare for move-out.
When you are packed and ready to ship, fill out an outbound
bill of lading and specify roadway as the carrier to
move your freight. If you haven't made previous arrangements,
call the expo-line (1-800-531-EXPO ) to let us know
when your exhibit will be ready for pickup. Advise the
Tradeshow coordinator the exact date and time the shipment's
re-routing is authorized. This will eliminate the possibility
of a "forced shipment" which can be create
problems for all parties involved. Return the bill of
lading to the service contractor and take a copy of
the bill with you.
