International and Emergency shipments

Sometimes you're faced with transportation situations that are out of the ordinary. Your freight's destination may be overseas or you may need to meet emergency delivery requirements in order to satisfy a customer.

International Shipping Expertise

Shipping to destinations outside of the contiguous 48 states can be more problematic than domestic shipping. Depending on your freight's destination, you'll probably have additional documentation to complete and you may need to find a broker or freight forwarder.

Select a carrier who can deliver your shipment within Alaska, Hawaii, or within another country. Your carrier should be able to tell you what documentation is required for your destination. Many carriers will move your shipment to the port, have it loaded on a container, reserve space on the steamship, and facilitate delivery. Look for a full-service carrier when shopping for these capabilities.

For international shipping, Roadway Express has established an International Service Center to answer your international shipping questions. Just dial 1-800-INTL-REX (1-800-468-5739) and a customer service representative will gladly answer any questions you might have. Or dive into the Domestic & International Service area of this web site for complete descriptions of our global transportation solutions.

Save money. If it doesn't need to be there the next day, don't ship it overnight! In other words, whether you are the shipper or the consignee, communicate with your customer or supplier and make sure you both understand the shipping requirements.
